The Auditions Process

The Pitches hold auditions each fall, and occasionally in the spring. The audition process is a weeklong affair, consisting of preliminary auditions and callbacks.

Preliminary auditions are held over the period of three days and are open to all Harvard undergraduates. The audition lasts about 5-10 minutes, and consists of a range test, pitch-matching exercises, and an optional sight-reading exercise. Additionally, auditionees should prepare a solo consisting of a verse and chorus from a song of their choice.

Following preliminary auditions, the Pitches select a number of auditionees for the second stage of auditions. Three rounds of callbacks are held in the 3-4 days following preliminary auditions. During callbacks, auditionees learn and perform excerpts from the Pitches’ repertoire, and also have a chance to get to know the Pitches.

The morning after the final night of callbacks, the Pitches welcome their newest group of “babies!"

We hope to see you at auditions!
